But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma
of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (NASB)

Fanny J. Crosby - the tribute begins

This Friday, our sweet daughter will give her 10th oral presentation for Classical Conversations. Her topic is Fanny J. Crosby, the Queen of Gospel Songs. We knew that she wrote many hymns and that she was blind. As we began to study her life, we were so encouraged by "how she lived her life."

In spite of life circumstances, she learned and lived Romans 8:37, "Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Today we are beneficiaries of her life, her Lord and her legacy.

Time doesn't permit to share at length the wonderful insights from this blessed saint. For my purpose this morning, please allow me to share one of her quotes.

"God will answer you prayers
better than you think.
Of course, one will not always
get exactly
what he has asked for....
We all have sorrows and disappointments,
but one must never forget that,
if commended to God,
they will issue in good....
His own solution is far better than any we could conceive."
